| - ***PLEASE READ MY SCREENSHOTS/EMAILS WITH MATTHEW BEFORE HIRING THIS BUSINESS! OWNER AND EMPLOYEE ARE PROVEN LIARS****
Some condiments got in a fight in my living room (Mustard, ketchup, hot sauce and sweet and sour sauce... we know how moody those condiments are; unpredictable, really). I looked on yelp and after receiving some highly competitive offers, I actually remembered about Fast and Green. Now I chose Fast and Green yet again because there are animals in the home, they have a whopping 8 5 star reviews on Yelp and being the creature of habit that I am, why not? So I called Matthew the owner on my way home from work and explained to him in extensive detail whhat the stains were by, how I tried to lift them, my results, and my concerns. He said no problem and booked me for Saturday. May I add that I was supposed to go out of town today but decided that getting this unsightly carpet taken care of was more important to me. My mistake. That evening, I read up on mustard stains and learned that the reason mustard is so yellow is becuase of turmeric. And that turmeric stains are incredibly difficult to lift,if not impossible. Hm.. Well that left me torn. Did I want to go through and spend $100ish dollars on these stains or should I just get the area recarpeted? I sent Matthew a concerned email that night: "Hi Matthew. Tricia here. So I was reading up on mustard stains and learned that because of the turmeric based color, mustard stains are nearly impossible to remove from carpets. What is your opinion on this? I am considering Just having the apartment recarpeted instead."
He responded promptly: "I would say that it's pretty amazing what we can get out, I know we have removed mustard stains in the past.
Sounds like this is a new home anyway, so it's probably a good idea to have the rugs sanitized and cleaned since you got a cat in the house."
Ok.. I breathed a sigh of relief and went about my day, very excited for Saturday to get here. Saturday morning we wake up and Nick comes to the apartment. After looking at the stains for about 3 minutes he frankly tells me he does not think they will lift AT ALL. I SO appreciated his honesty. I called Matthew right then and there and left a voicemail explaining everything as it was happening and asked for a call back ASAP. Nothing yet. I sent an email as well again explaining everything just in case his voicemail happened to be broken today. Nothing yet.
Nick Leaves... I'm angry and frustrated..., I google how to remove turmeric stains and get this- toothpaste, dish soap, windex, water.. white cloth, hot iron on steam setting... Guess what lifted? No seriously take a guess.... YES the turmeric stains lifted! I mean, not all the way, there are still traces of light yellow on the carpet but I am now on my way to get oxiclean to finish lifting those.
My point? I am not sure who is to blame here. Is it Matthew for reeling me in and wanting to guarantee a $98 from me? (every visit chrages a minimum of $98 despite the specials that are advetised- you have to keep adding services until you hit $98) Or was it Nick who just didnt feel like working today? I dont think I will ever know because I have not heard from the owner. But guess what I do know? I will not be calling Fast and Green again.
Update 1/15/2016 It is now almost a week since Nick came out and was here for 5 minutes before saying he couldnt lift anything off the carpet. For those of you who did not read the lengthy emails screenshotted, Nick told his boss that he even tried different solutions and nothing woudl work which was a COMPLETE lie. Promptly after he left I made a trip to get some common household items before I decided to recarpet the entire apartment. Sunday I worked for 4 hours to get the stains out and they lifted. What did I use? No I didnt use Windex, Oxi Clean, or heavy carpet cleaners this time around. I used dish soap, alcohol, baking soda, and white vinegar. I am in no way saying that everyone should try this method first without consulting with REAL professionals, but what I am saying is that if Fast N Green couldn't take out stains that baking soda, vinegar, dish soap, and alcohol did, then I am severely questioning their cleaning abilities at all.
In response to Matthew's comments: the first day you claimed Nick attempted to use your products on my carpet (see screenshot). Now you're publicly admitting hat no work was performed. Which is it? Lying to save face in front of potential customers is not a wise move. Bottom line: You had the chance to make this right (and declined) which is why i called you and now you are making false claims publicly. Your reputation should be demonstrated by your actions but what you are saying here is dishonest and that is what should be taken into account by any potential customer.
PS, you didnt decline my job. I declined your services bc Nick said there would be a charge if he did try to remove the stains.
