| - I woke my 10 month old up early and made the hour drive to this ramshackle dealership in the hopes of purchasing a vehicle listed on their lot. On their website was advertised a trade-in deal offering $1K over fair value for your trade, something I called to confirm prior to driving in. When we got there, the car that we were interested in had missing pieces and a completely dead battery...should have taken that as the big RED FLAG to get out of there. Finally got the car jumped and took it for a drive. The salesman mentioned *maybe* being able to do something about the battery. Got back to the lot where I outlined my deal, $1K over fair value for my trade, come down $200 off the sticker price to replace the parts and pieces that were missing, and they'd have a cash deal. Immediately, the salesman said he didn't know if they would do anything above book for my trade and there was no room in the price since they'd be losing money on the deal. I informed them that they'd had the car on the lot for a long time (nearly 60 days, forever in the car industry) and that I would not be moving from my terms. The guy said he'd "uh, see what I can, uh, do' and returned 5 minutes later (presumably after calling another customer that he'd been more focused on working with after they called in) saying, "yeah, no, we're not doing that". I then proceeded to pack my family back up make the hour-long trip back home.
Here's the thing, maybe it's that I've worked at a REAL dealership as a salesperson, but the entire time, was floored by their treatment of customers.
1) at no time were we offered a seat or a drink--we stood awkwardly in their sales trailer while he took his sweet time appraising the trade, "checking with his manager", and eating.
2) we didn't get contact information for the salesman (no business card or anything, nor did he make any effort to get our information for follow up...in case another vehicle came in or they suddenly came to their sense and were willing to make something happen.
3) the manager of this establishment remained a shady figure behind closed blinds. Not once did he pop his head out and say hello or thank you for coming out to see us.
Overall, I would ideally give this place NO stars, but instead, I simply recommend avoiding this place like the plague and spend your hard-earned money someplace that is appreciative of your business.
