I have been going to Eye Contact West for around 10 years now and have always received professional and courteous service there. My insurance company referred them as one of the few that accepts my insurance from another state on the east coast.
I have always requested the doctor soonest available and as a result have seen all of them and they have all been extremely thorough. I have also paid the 25 dollar fee to get to Optomap rather than that awful pupil dilation I have had to suffer through since childhood which caused blurred vision for hours . In addition to the convenience it also is more comprehensive in that it gives a visual "map" of the entire eye. One year one of the doctors was able to determine that there were changes that indicated a potentially serious health issue for which he referred me to my physician along with a copy of the map.
As far as glasses, I found the best frames I have ever had there which I have worn nearly every day for three years and for which I still get complements at least once a week. They were reasonably priced as well which is not always the case for the frames there. It also seems like the selection is hit or miss as well. Sometimes they have too many gorgeous ones to choose from and other times they seem bland.
The first year I needed no line bifocals I went to a cheaper place with my prescription and ended up just taking my glasses off when I needed to read. The next year I went with Eye Contact's recommendation to use a more expensive type of lens made by Eastman Kodak of camera product fame (including camera lenses) and it made a world of difference.
Sometimes I order contact lenses and they have allowed me a generous amount of samples from which to decide before ordering. Now I use the daily disposables which are about the same cost as other lenses and I don't have the need to buy expensive cleaning, storing and disinfecting solutions. This is especially convenient since I use them infrequently and it means I always have a fresh pair.
The doctor even prescribed allergy drops especially for contact lens wearers which works better than the OTC ones but needs daily use to be effective.
