I bought a part for my pool on 6/23/16. The part was unused but packaging opened. It didn't work so I tried to return it. I'm within the "15 day return" window ( yes, you read that correctly) but it was refused because the package was opened. The receipt clearly states "all other products Shawn's offers a 15 day return policy when Un-used in original box or package and accompanied by a receipt". Nowhere does it note that the packaging needs to be unopened or in pristine condition, merely in original box or package. If you're going to refuse my return for that reason, then maybe that should be clearly listed on the receipt, or specified at time of purchase.
The part was $95 after tax but I was offered same day store credit for the item value, less tax. Same day...because I need $89 in pool supplies today?! I'm frustrated with this policy because I tried to support local business even though this same part was $60 online. Now, I'm dealing with a part that I cannot use and no way to get credit for it because the bag is opened. I've learned my lesson and will not be supporting this local business since the owner is unwilling to support his local customers.
