Took my Honda Civic in for a recall today; came out with $1,600 of necessary work on this 2008 car. Reviewed each repair carefully with my repair history and making a few phone calls to my mechanics. ALL bogus. For example, Rear brakes are on list with 1mm left. Had front brakes replaced last July. SO in 9K miles, rear brakes went from 60% to 0%!? I don't think so. Drive belt needs replacement. Nope. It is in perfect shape. Brake flush...Done less than 15,000 miles ago. Nope. Over $900 on power steering stuff. NO signs at all of any issues with the power steering. Reviewed this last one carefully online and can say confidently this is bogus too. I really hate this. I purchased a car with my son from their fleet manager a few years back. Good experience. However I will NEVER use their service department again and caution others about their practices. I was hesitant to take the car to them to begin with because others had experienced the same exact thing in the reviews. Well, I have confirmed it.
