  • If I could rate purely on food, this place would get one star unfortunately. Service was good but food was completely off for me. The amuse bouche was a mini croissant with blue cheese. The croissant was flavorful but cold. The first course was a yam soup. Nothing to really complain about but soup isn't that exciting, especially for the price you pay. The second course a chilled mussel chawanmushi. It was decent. Technical wise I feel like I've had better. Mussels seemed somewhat overcooked. Radishes were nice on top. But can we talk about the uni cheesecake? Not good at all. First off, uni is so precious that it's sad to see it completely hidden with whatever this "cheesecake" is....honestly it reminded me of the processed cheese in a can. I would have no idea there was uni on this plate. The third course was the best. The fried soft shell crab with wasabi and mustard seeds and purple potatoes. Sauce was creamy, acidic and spicy which was good to pair with something fried. This was probably the best dish of the night. My friend had the snapper with Apple purée and sautéed kale. Snapper was cooked nicely but no flavor and purée was cold. Also I honestly do not see the link between Apple purée and snapper. The fourth course was an oxtail croquettes. Didn't understand this meal. The croquettes were 10% oxtail and 90% potato. I don't like it when chefs don't honor the main ingredient. My friend had frog legs with an egg mousse and sautéed shittake mushrooms. Frog legs did not have any flavor but egg mousse had a good acidic hit and was creamy. And mushrooms were meaty. The last dishes were fig Beignets with caramel sauce. It literally was one tiny fig.......but overall not bad. I did like the chocolate butterscotch cake. But the crust and the cream separated from each other. But I did love the flavors in the cake. Overall, mostly lows and little highs. I wouldn't feel so bad about it if I didn't pay so much for the meal.
