This is the absolute grossest, poorly maintained hotel I have ever paid money to sleep in. Positively disgusting!!!!
We were in town for a funeral which, as those things go, was very last minute. We called around and every other hotel in the area was sold out and actually, with my in-laws, we secured the last two rooms in this hotel for the weekend.
We were literally in this hotel for 27 hours- we arrived at 2 am on Saturday and left at 5 am on Sunday- had some flight issues that kept us from getting in earlier on Friday night, so we ended up with just enough time for all of the funeral "events" and a little bit of sleep. But our time spent in these hotel rooms was horrible.
It was disgusting!
We were in room 106. There was hair in our bathtub. There were cigarette burns on the blanket. There were holes in the black out curtains. The sink doesn't drain so it is full of yucky stuff. A couple of bugs bopping around. And then we found blood in 6 spots on our curtains! Totally unacceptable! This kind of stuff alarms me because it is all things that you can clearly see! So what about the things you can't see? Are they actually cleaning those things? Are the sheets getting changed each day? Are the towels getting washed?
The carpet also felt sticky to me, so I wore sandals anytime I was out of the bed. My in-laws in room 104 has a recliner type chair in their room that had a skirt that was falling off and a dresser with drawer fronts that were falling apart- just terrible maintenance! Our room was missing an alarm clock and an iron (which I never use in hotels, but actually needed this time to iron funeral clothes!). My in-laws room was missing a trash can and a phone!!!
Two stars because the beds were decently comfortable, the front desk staff did seem SLIGHTLY concerned when we told them about the problems we had (though they were obvious things that should have been caught before we arrived AND there is no manager on duty over the weekends!)) and there is a free breakfast in the lobby (though quite carb-heavy!), so it does seem like they are trying a little bit.
