I have patronized Nozomi for a number of years for lunch and dinner and like to have dinner here before going to the Smith Center for a show or the Philharmonic. It's a quiet, little, out-of-the-way restaurant with good food and reasonable prices; however, I probably won't be returning any time soon.
If you're cold-blooded by nature, this may be a comfortable restaurant to dine at but, for the rest of us, the temperature of the dining room is way too high. When customers are drinking hot tea and hot miso soup and it's 88 degrees outside, you CANNOT keep the thermostat in the dining room set between 82-85!! I've mentioned to the sushi chef and waitress several times when I've been there that the dining area seemed uncomfortably warm. They'll turn down the thermostat and it will cool off, but every time I return, it's the same thing. The final straw was when I paid the bill and left the restaurant sweating. They clearly don't understand that the comfort of the diners comes first. I'll have to find another restaurant to go to from now on before I go to the Smith Center, which is disappointing.
