  • UPDATE: Their popularity is their own demise. If you want to go, do not go on a Saturday. The front of house (except for the coat check person) was rude and completely confused. Our waitress was the sweetest woman ever when we finally got a table, but everything before that was a disaster for a variety of reasons. This is not the first time I've had a bad experience with the guest experience surrounding entering the club on a Saturday, which is why I had to remove a star. I highly recommend going on a weekday when the front of house is not overwhelmed and dazed. TLDR: Fun and trendy speakeasy with delicious cocktails. Go on a weekday. The first time I attempted going to Atwater Cocktail Club was on a Saturday and after waiting in line for half an hour we got in only to have no place to sit and barely any place to stand. Having now been able to go in, on a Wednesday, and properly experience the cocktail bar I understand why it was so packed. The place is hidden in an alley on Atwater just under Notre Dame Ouest. My friend and I were greeted by a smiley server who seated us immediately and gave us menus with a list of intricate cocktails. I was debating between the Flamingo, Cinco de Mayo, and a third rum based drink that was flavoured with raspberries and peaches. My friend got the flamingo and our server highly recommended the Cinco de Mayo for me, and I'm very glad she did. My drink was tequila based with chile, house-made hibiscus syrup, lime, and elderflower liquor served in a champagne saucer and topped with hibiscus petals. It was a delicate drink that packed a big punch, and I enjoyed every drop. The flamingo was served in a highball and was akin to a strawberry basil milkshake. Overall it was a great experience due to our amazing server and the tasty cocktails. I can't wait to visit again.
