  • I am so happy that I found Dr. Fattah and his staff. I have extremely sensitive teeth and have had *a lot* of dental work done in the past. When I went for my first visit, I was scared to have my teeth cleaned because of the extreme cold sensitivity. The hygienist took his time with me, used warm water, did not directly spray it or air on my most sensitive teeth, and got them looking great. I have never had a better cleaning. The office is high tech... the X rays and the wand they took pictures of each tooth with gave me the best imaging I've ever had. I like how they put the pictures of my teeth up on the large screen and when I talk with the dentist and assistants I can see exactly what they are referring to. I felt listened to about my past dental issues and I was able to understand all the options Dr. Fattah gave me for my new treatment plan. Dr. Fattah referred me to an endodontist (Dr. Hu) for an apicoectomy, and to an orthodontist (Dr. McDonald) for consultation, then conferred with both of them in narrowing down my best course of treatment. He insisted I get the apicoectomy before anything else, and helped me prioritize my crowns, buildups, and orthodontics so we can fix bad past dental work and resolve some underlying bite issues that were leading to my teeth cracking again and again. I had a very positive experience with Dr. Hu for the apicoectomy. He gave me an oral sedative. I only took half the usual dose and was aware for the whole procedure, which went very smoothly and quickly. Then I returned to Dr. Fattah for my crown. I have three to do, and the office staff was amazing in helping figure out my insurance coverage and taking the time over several calls for me to come to a good decision about scheduling and prioritizing the work so that I can save $1200 and still fix my teeth. This was the best crown experience I have ever had. The high tech equipment Dr. Fattah uses was a great help. Rather than using a regular suction and dental dam (or worse, bite block and no dam), they used a silicone combo bite block and suction tool. The first size triggered my gag reflex, but I was able to adjust to the smaller size and I'm so glad I did. This prevented me swallowing any of the debris from my tooth and old filling material, made it so I could breathe and swallow quite normally, and eliminated any pinching from the suction or fatigue from keeping my mouth open or using a normal bite block. For numbing, he was able to do a single tooth numbing with a special electronic delivery system. This was WONDERFUL!!! No painful injection or pressure, no numbed face, neck or lip. It did wear off more quickly and take longer to administer, but he did so repeatedly whenever I asked and I was so happy not to feel panicked from having the back of my throat numb and being able to eat normally immediately after the procedure! The other high tech benefit was that they were able to make my crown on site, in the same visit. I walked out of the office with my permanent crown - no temporary or second visit needed. One thing I love about this office is that the staff all seem happy and it appears that everyone is treated with respect. That spills over into how they treat their patients. Everyone I have interacted with has been knowledgeable, skilled, and friendly. The office itself has beautiful art in it and a nature video playing. It is a soothing atmosphere. This goes a long way to relieving anxiety, too. I have sent my wife to Dr. Fattah - she has had a cleaning and a consultation and was also very pleased. My son will be going for his first appointment in a couple weeks. We could not be happier. I wish I had found them when we first moved to Salem! I hope we never have to change dentists again.
