  • Wife and I got tired of the traffic and high taxes in New York. Wife decided it was time to move and she decided Pittsburgh was the place to live. I work out of my house so it does not really matter where I live. When buying a 100 year old house in Pittsburgh it is a lot different than buying a 30 year old house in New York, There is a lot of things you need to know before just buying a house. Since we where still living in New York and could only come to Pittsburgh every weekend or every other weekend it is tough to find a house on your own. In comes Bobby West from Caldwell Banker. Wife decided to hire a buyers agent that knew the area and knew the housing problems. Bobby would send us relevant houses by email and then we could look at them and decide which houses we wanted to see when we where there. Bobby told us with houses that old to be sure to get a sewer camera check and a radon check of coarse a engineers report is a must as well. Three very important things that you definitely need to do on any possible house you want. Bobby West was very patient with us and was always friendly and extremely helpful. I highly recommend if you are buying a house in Pittsburgh you hire yourself a buyers agent. I definitely recommend Bobby West from Caldwell banker as the best buyers agent around. After all he put up with my wife and I for 8 months. After 8 months of house hunting my wife and bobby found the perfect house for us. After a little bit of work the house will be perfect.
