  • I was referred to Barks & Bubbles by a co-worker who is friends with the owner. So I went to the place to check it out and I booked appointments for my two dogs. The place is cute and I felt comfortable leaving my dogs, as this was the first time they had been cut by someone new. I had always taken my pups to the same groomer for the past 10 years but needed to change due to a location change and the inability to get an appointment. Unfortunately, after the grooming, when I got home, I noticed my dog had red streaks and marks on her belly and near her groin. I really wish the groomer had told me about the razor/clipper burns. I immediately contacted the owner on Facebook using Messenger, and sent her a picture showing her the wounds. She apologized, recommended I take my dog to the vet, stated she would pay the vet bill, and would refund my money for the grooming, and pay for the next grooming appointment if I would give them another chance. I thought that was very nice and I tried to not make a huge deal out of the situation. I did call my vet and they recommended a hydro-cortisone cream which did clear up the burns. But I never heard from the owner again. I find this strange, if I owned a business and I knew a problem occurred, I certainly would follow up with the customer. I waited several weeks thinking the owner would send me the promised refund or at least contact me to see if my dog was okay. But absolutely nothing. So I reached out to the owner again on Facebook using Messenger, she read the message but did not reply, and I left her my contact information. I don't want to be the kind of person that leaves a message that is negative about someone's business, but I really felt like I was totally ignored and just blown off. I know accidents can happen, and sometimes dogs get nicked when being groomed, but the groomer really needs to let the dog owner know before they drive off. My other dog's haircut was pretty bad, very uneven, one ear was 3 inches long while the other was 5 inches long. I didn't say anything but was not satisfied. I'm posting this to warn people to check their dog before they leave this place, as I have read a few other reviews that seem to be about the same issue occurring.
