  • Absolutely horrible. I would like to preface this review by saying that I have my WA state cosmetology license and usually enjoy getting my hair cut at a school. It's typically a fun environment and I love supporting the students because I've been in their shoes. I even brought a frappucino to give to the student who would be doing my hair as a treat/thank-you. To start, it is impossible to find the correct phone number for this location. I called two of the numbers that were listed for the Glendale location and got the wrong place each time (the first one was for a different Empire location and the second was for the corporate admissions office). When I was finally able to reach them this morning, I made an appointment for a 2 p.m. haircut. The individual on the phone was curt and didn't even take my name. They just told me it would be fine to come in at 2. I arrived a few minutes early only to see no students and no one at the front desk. When I was finally greeted it was by Heather, an instructor there. I let her know I had an appointment and she told me everyone was on lunch at that time and would be "trickling in soon". When I asked why no one told me that on the phone, she said she didn't know who I spoke to on the phone and offered no apology. I wasn't in any hurry (getting your hair cut at a school takes time) so I sat down to wait. Over the next 10 minutes, the students and other instructors did indeed "trickle in". As more people came in, Heather distractedly tried to find a student to do my hair. None were to be found and she even made a joke about "flunking the bad students" who hadn't shown up yet. Another 10 minutes went by and there still wasn't anyone available and no apology was offered. I was trying to be understanding, but then I saw Heather outside on a smoke break (a student had to track her down so that the customer she was finished with could be rung up). I used to be a smoker too, so I understand, but seriously? She couldn't wait a few minutes until she rustled up someone to help me? Why did that poor student have to hunt down her instructor? With this, I simply walked out. Nobody cared about my time or that I was there at all. The instructors are a completely unprofessional and horrid influence on their students. I am wholly unimpressed with this school and urge you not to waste your time or energy with this sham of a learning institution.
