  • We booked our wedding stay at the Golden Nugget. Where to begin with our complaints? For starters we had to book another night stay because we wanted to have an early check in (and were willing to pay for this service) but no they refused. Because I had my hair and makeup artist coming at 2:30 I had to insure I would be in my room and ready. So that was a disappointment that we had to book another night just to be sure for a mere 30 mins. When we arrived to check in they had our reservation wrong because of the added night stay so that was a problem sorting out. At first the clerk said our main reservation had been cancelled. She managed to accommodate finally. We told them it was our wedding hoping they would put us in a nice room. We ended up being put next to the ice machine and the elevator shaft and our window had a view of a concrete wall. You might as well of put us in a service corridor because that's what it felt like! Another frustration was hearing that my makeup artist had difficulties parking as well as my PREGNANT friend who was coming to get ready for the wedding in my room. They allowed my artist to park, but my pregnant friend who was alone was told to park in the public city parking garage down the street. This is downtown Las Vegas and not safe to be walking down dark streets at night. We had to walk her back to her car later that night to make sure she made it safely and trust me when I say that it was a bit scary making that walk. We were guests in this hotel and it outrages me that they would turn away my guest and jeopardize her safety. Had I known before it had happened I would of been all over the Golden Nugget. At check out they tried to charge us twice for all of nights stay. Our original reservation was already pre-paid through Virgin Holiday. Again we had to argue our case to prove they were mistaken. Thank goodness we didn't do automatic check out because we would of paid twice for what we felt we would of never of paid once for! Also my new mother in law sent flowers (wired from England) and the hotel lost them somehow and never delivered!!! We will NEVER stay here again and we encourage anyone thinking of staying here to beware of all of these reviews and go somewhere else. The Golden Nugget has definitely changed for the worse! STAY AWAY
