| - The tour was everything I had hoped for. I paid $74 per person for our tour from Las Vegas to the south rim of the grand canyon. We booked online and got an email confirmation. They emailed us again the night before, letting us know of the exact time and location of the pick up, which was the Excalibur at 5:55 am. We were picked up in a large, clean, new tour bus. Overall there were about 40 people on the tour with us. They provided a danish and a nutrigrain for a morning snack. Water was available all day. After making a few more stops for pick ups, we headed over to Hoover Dam for a quick photo op. Then over to Seligman AZ along the historic route 66 where we got a bathroom break and our lunch that we pre- ordered. The lunch was a sandwich, chips, cookie, and a small apple.
The ride is long but they play some family friendly movies to help the time pass by. i mostly just slept since we're had gotten up so early. The driver also told us some cool facts about the places that we visited. The driver was very friendly and helpful. He was also good at letting us know exactly what to expect throughout the day, such as what stops We're going to make, and where the good photo ops are.
The first stop at grand canyon was the Mather Point. The canyon is so big that it was hard to fully process the sheer size. We had an hour to walk around here. A few people were late to the bus, and our driver went looking for them, couldn't find them, and we almost left them! But thankfully they came running right when we were pulling out.
The second stop was Bright Angel Lodge, and it was amazing. We had about two hours here. It was a very cold windy day in early March, so I was very glad I brought my winter coat. There was still lots of snow on the ground.
On the way back there was a short stop at a McDonald's for a snack and bathroom break.
We got back to our hotel at 8:30ish, so it was about 14 hours total. Long day, but worth the time and money! It was a very good deal.
