| - Decided to check out Pubblico in the Crown on 7th last nite, and it was impressive. Went light with salads and pizza and both were perfect. Salads, a raspberry and a ceasar, were well prepared, fresh, lightly dressed with shaved parmesan. Chose a margarita pizza and added sausage and it was one of the best pizzas we've had in a town with an overload of good pizza. A slightly thicker crust than most of the gourmet pizza offerings around town, which allowed the dough to remain somewhat firm and not flimsy once the veggies released moisture. Sat at the bar and our server/bartender, Edgar was a pleasure. Engaging, knowledgeable, attentive and part of the family in this family owned gem of a restaurant.
Positives...great food, great service and affordable. Only negative...it can be noisy. With doors/windows open in cooler months it's probably a non-issue, but the other half of the year, even sitting at the bar it was a strain to hear. The dining area is just a large room with four-tops. Could be improved with potted leafy trees to muffle sound and create more intimacy.
