  • Our experience with EZ was anything but easy. The initial line to retrieve a pre-booked car took well over an hour, the front counter was simply understaffed. When we eventually got to the front the agent at the counter was as efficient as she could be. I denied the protection and accepted the prepaid gas option. The car we received was nice, exactly as described, and reliable for our 4 day trip. When we returned the car we pulled up behind the last car in the return line and began unloading our luggage. A service agent came out, got in the car in front of us and gruffly instructed us to move our car up as well. This was not only inconvenient because we had all of our belongings unpacked but it was also rather unprofessional. As soon as we parked she scanned the barcode, walked around to the front of the car and circled a place on the windshield without much inspection; it seemed as though she knew exactly what she was looking for. She then informed me that I didn't have the prepaid gas option and I needed to leave to get gas or pay over $8.00 for them to fill it. Obviously I was miffed because I had an entire conversation with the counter agent about this. She did end up honoring the $2.07 pre-paid rate which I very much appreciated. Before leaving she needed me to fill out an incident report on the chip on the windshield. This was insanely aggravating because there was no incident while I was in possession of the car. Anyone who has had a rock, or any other object, hit their windshield knows that it is loud and rather alarming. It is something that both my passenger and I would have been alerted to. There was nothing that happened that I could have recorded on this report. There was no incident. When I asked what happened next she just said, "I don't know, I give the paper to someone else and then they decide if you have to pay for it," which I am currently waiting to hear about. I certainly hope that the manager does not try to swindle me into paying for an incident that did not occur during my rental time. I would be very disappointed to find out that a company serving thousands of people would operate in such a shady manner if it does turn out that this chip was prerecorded and pinned on me. I will be sure to update depending on the outcome of the report.
