  • I am disappointed with my NYE experience at Commonwealth last night. We purchased our tickets online, $70 for open bar from 6-11pm. Upon arrival, we were notified that after 11pm, there was no re-entry to the rooftop bar, unless you wanted to pay $25. The rooftop bar is the reason we chose to go to Commonwealth, over other cheaper options downtown. So the fact that we had to pay more to be up there for the countdown seemed a little odd to us. You can imagine that after having an open bar, people are most likely needing to use the restroom in that time frame and the only restroom is downstairs. There was also no champagne toast at midnight which was promised in the package. I also asked a cocktail waitress if you had a coat check to which she responded, "only for men." I don't know if she was being sarcastic or not, but I was never able to check my coat, which was also strange to me. After midnight, our entire party was kicked out at different times for different reasons between 12-12:30. We all found each other outside, confused. Overall, we had a nice evening up until 11pm. There were just multiple different things that our party was disappointed with.
