  • Definitely a trendy restaurant - the first Momofuku (branch) in Canada. Daish? is set in a minimalist glass cube, with simple yet elegant wooden benches and tables filling the dining room, perched over University Avenue in downtown Toronto. The three-storied Momocomplex is also home to Noodle Bar (1st floor), Nikai (2nd floor lounge bar), and Sh?t? (a tasting menu-only dining facility, located behind the Daish? dining room on the third floor). The loud party dining scene, in and of itself, is worth checking out. My partner and I visited Daish? for dinner, and we ordered from their a la carte menu. There were many different dishes to sample and share, served family style. The menu featured a lot of seasonal Ontario ingredients, fused with the Chang-American-Asian style that he is known for originating in New York City. All in all, the dishes sampled were unique enough, some a little too salty for my liking, but, these things happen. Their wine list has a lot of local and international gems to pair with the flavourful dishes on offer, as well as quality Ontario craft brews, with a few off-beat sake selections, too.
