  • Câlins et popotin is a store for babies and their parents, specializing in baby carriers (câlins) and cloth diapers (popotin). It's a lovely boutique on Beaubien near de Lorimier. All questions are answered fully and the staff is very helpful...which means that sometimes it can be slow to get your question answered if they're busy with another customer. It's worth waiting as you're sure to learn something interesting. I initially found my way to the store because a friend had recommended Bravado brand nursing bras/tank tops and this store carries them. I returned a second time in search of a Snappi (gadget which replaces diaper pins for cloth diapers). Even though I had received a baby carrier as a gift (not purchased here) and was only buying a $5 item, the staff person took the time to show me how to use my carrier properly. Very impressive service. I was also impressed by the selection of handmade and locally-sourced items. I also appreciate having a good cloth-diapering resource nearby. Most of their diapers are pocket diapers and those aren't my favourites, but it's good to know where I can get specialty items like cloth-diaper-friendly ointments or eco detergents or swim diapers or cover-up bathing suits.
