I was surprised to see all of the bad reviews. While the hotel and the service wasn't perfect, we had a very enjoyable stay. We actually moved from the Candlewood Suites for 2 reasons; one the AC did not work there, the room didn't get below 85 degrees, and two, a guest was given a key card to our room and was trying to get in at 1AM. That was scary!
We got a King Suite at HI and was very pleased with the room. We were the only guests on the 4th floor because the hall AC wasn't working and that was the only suite available. That was fine with us as long as the room AC worked-and it did, almost too well. The bed was super comfy and we appreciated having a fridge and microwave in the suite. Because of the hall AC issue, the front desk clerk gave us 2 free breakfast coupons for the restaurant downstairs. We went there the first afternoon and had a drink and some mozzarella sticks. That is the only thing on the menu that I do not recommend. We ordered room service and the food was hot and delicious. The room service was so much faster that eating in the restaurant. Breakfast service took at least 45 minutes and the servers don't seem to be trained very well. Room service arrived in less than 20 minutes every time we ordered. The burger was one of the best I've ever had.
All front desk and restaurant staff were very friendly and very helpful. The housekeeping staff need some retraining. We had to call 2 different days to actually get someone to come up and clean our room. The other days, they didn't come until 4:30-5PM. When I asked one of the ladies for extra towels, she looked at me like I had 2 heads.
Overall, a great visit and we have already made plans to stay here again.
