I love Vegas so much I visit every few months. Being a foodie, next to NY or ChiTown, Vegas is the next best thing to finding great food. Yes everything is glamorized and every casino restaurant has a celebrity chef's name attached to it.
I only know Brian Malarkey from The Taste show. His take on food is creative, yet comforting and not too out there. Simple well known flavors that are combined and work well.
We only had three different dishes and all were delicious and tasty.
Brie Triple + Strawberry Jam - Not sure what the "triple" means, but you get three crostinin's, a nice size cut of brie topped with jam to even out the flavor and thickness of the brie. Good starter!
Egg + Bacon (pork belly) - This a similar take on eggs benedict. You have a nice toasted piece of bread, layered with slow cooked tender juicy pork belly and topped with a poached egg and gravy. Every bite was savory and sumptuous.
For our main entree we both had the Loin Filet (yah we are adventurous). I guess these new age chefs dont like to call it filet mignon any more, but in essence thats what it was. It was flavorful, tender and a good sized serving for $40. The lobster butter and mushroom demi gave it that punch it needed to not make it the boring filet mignon served at your favorite steakhouse.
Service was quick and pleasant, but we didnt have the connection with our servers you can feel when they really enjoy their job.
I liked that it was casual and not stuffy, high end. Nice addition to the vegas scene.
