We stayed at the hotel and came down for a quick drink. Most areas were reserved so we only had one supposed option to sit. We sat and waited about 10 minutes to order. We ordered an old fashioned and a dark & stormy. Both came out wrong. After changing to a wine and explaining the ingredients in a dark & stormy the second round wasn't much better. Clearly the bartender wasn't sure how to make the drink and had added lime juice. During this time they also say two of the areas that were "reserved". We decided to go to the room to finish our drinks. They would not allow us upstairs. The door man blocked the entrance to the elevator and spoke only in French. I walked back to the hostess to ask (because I don't speak French) while there the manager came up and said, "I saw you at the elevator now I see you here what's wrong" with an attitude. I simply explained I don't understand French and wanted to know why we couldn't go upstairs. He offered no explanation nor any help.
I get that this place is more of a club (I live in miami trust me I get it) but there is no reason to treat hotel guests or guests in general as an inconvenience.
Overall service in Montreal is amazing so this place sticks out like a sore thumb.
