| - When we moved to Vegas we made a list of all the steakhouses we wanted to try here...SO many to choose from. After reading reviews and looking at menus online our list narrowed. Herbs and Rye made the list though and we are so glad it did. We had dinner with friends here last night. When you drive up, it's just a average looking place. When you walk in from the Vegas sun, you feel like the place has no power...lol...it's so dark inside, it takes a minute for your eyes to adjust...then you finally see the hostess waiting at the end of the hallway to greet and seat you. We had made reservations because I had a feeling it would be busy on a Friday night, during Happy Hour where ALL steaks are 50% off!!!!! Yes you read it correctly!!! 5pm to 8pm ALL steaks are 50% off. We were then seated at a great booth inside the bar...now if you are looking for a nice quiet dinner, don't let them seat you in the bar. We didn't mind sitting there. The energy was fun...it was loud like a bar that is hopping should be. We were the 1st to arrive and greeted by our waiters assistant...he got us nice cold water and we then met our waiter Ronald. He greeted us, asked us if we had ever been to Herbs and Rye and since we said it was our 1st time he went over the menu with us! We ordered cocktails while we waited for our friends to arrive. The bar menu is amazing...a ton to choose from. We however like tiki drinks so we ordered painkillers. They came quickly to us in these beautiful large tiki cups...1 drink had me tipsy...honestly after 1/4 of the drink I was feeling it. They were yummy. The bar atmosphere and decor were great...very classic & old school. Ronalds assistant was very attentive with our water needs...we needed it with the vegas heat..hydration is important! ;)
Our friends arrived and we finally were able to order! I ordered a filet mignon and had it was Bleu cheese crusted, the truffle Mac.n.cheese, and we shared a Cesar salad. My man ordered the Ribeye and had the chimichuri seasoning, which is garlic olive oil and seasonings added and asparagus. We shared the sides. We also shared a side of garlic mashed with our friend. Our friend ordered the pork chop and our other friend ordered the filet flat bread with arugula.
When the food arrived, steaks were on their own plates and the sides were served in individual little casserole dishes, so very easy to share.
I have to say...it was one of the BEST filets I have had, juicy and tender and taking a bite of the man's Ribeye it was the BEST Ribeye I had ever tasted. The flavor was amazing. The asparagus was cooked to perfection with butter and lemon. The mac.n.cheese was creamy and had a crust on the top that was crunchy. The mashed potatoes I didn't try but my man said it was really good. Our Cesar salad we had earlier was delicious as well. The dressing was garlicky and peppery! We were also served hot bread and butter that was delicious!!
But honestly the BEST part of the entire experience was the attention from our waiter. Customer service is a HUGE part for me...and this was spot on!!! Thank you for not only an amazing meal but a wonderful experience!!! We will 110% be going back!!
