I'll admit the first time I walked in here it was pretty cool. We live in the area and frequent quite a few bars around here. We stumbled in over a month back and were sort of drawn in by the antiques and the old school vibe. It was the same guy we've seen in here bartending since then. Nice guy but service is s-l-o-w. The first time we were in we went to the bar, grabbed our drinks and sat at the red old school couch. Not comfy but very cool.
We wanted to stop in about two weeks ago now on a Saturday before the Velveteen Rabbit opened across the street and I'm almost wishing we didn't because the service was so bad I'm not sure we'll ever go back. Granted, it was a tad busy, far from overwhelming but there was the same guy behind the bar and another lady. We perched up sort of right at the bar as you walk in to the left. I know she saw us as she came and grabbed something right from the bar next to us. She didn't acknowledge us and I could tell she had that busy look. So we waited. The other guy was filling orders for people walking up to the bar and glanced over at us once or twice but never came over. I was ready to roll out as it was annoying but my wife wanted me to wait another about five minutes. Still, literally no one came over or took a drink order. It was probably the worst service I've seen in the bars in the area. Cool vibe but what's going to keep people coming back here after the coolness of the place wears off is the customer service. And if it's normally like we saw that day it needs an improvement.
