I refuse to shop at Canadian Tire unless I ABSOLUTELY have to. I also refuse to take my car there unless I ABSOLUTELY have to.
Unfortunately for me, I got a flat tire on Saturday night. AMA Came and changed the tire for me, but I was driving on my donut. The AMA guy said that they'd be able to repair my tire and to not let them sell me a new tire.
I didn't want to wait until today (Tuesday) to have it looked at, because I was hoping to have it fixed so I could go to Sundre. I called Canadian Tire and they told me to come in but I'd have to leave it with them for a few hours.
I dropped off my car, there was NOBODY there, and he quoted me $50 to fix the tire - $30 for the plug, $10 because I have 17" low profile tires, and $10 for something else. Which seems like a rip-off but whatever.
I went and had lunch, and about an hour and a half later he called me and told me they couldn't fix it. But they could order me a new tire and after all the labor and nickle and dime charges it would have been over $300 to get it fixed!
I started to tell him no and he HUNG UP ON ME!
I went and picked up my car - surprisingly they didn't charge me for their assesment.
Took my car to OK Tire in Airdrie this morning and MIRACULOUSLY they were able to FIX the tire. *gasp*
