  • The only reason I'm giving two stars and not one is the staff there was very friendly and helpful. Max our diabetic cat, is on a high maintenance Banfield plan because we travel and we don't often hit the same vet twice. We use Banfield because of their nationwide records and we are on a plan because we thought it would save us money. We used the Avondale Banfield in January 2017 and at first, we were satisfied with their service. Our other two cats are not on a plan, we brought them in for a feline leukemia vaccine and they insisted on a full checkup even though they had one just a month previous; they also did a full checkup again three weeks later when they went in for their booster. when we complained we were told that it is because they are not on a Banfield plan. It seems like this clinic is very money hungry. Our next issue was trying to get one of the tests entered into Max's records. This is a very important test because it shows that max is insulin resistant; this test was also rather expensive. When we called to get a prescription sent to the pharmacy and discuss his insulin levels we were told that the vet entered no information into his records including the test information and that she no longer works there. It took them almost two months to get the test information resent from the lab. They never did get them into his records they instead ended up sending us a hard copy. Our most recent issue was trying to get a copy of Max's records. Max had an emergency, his glucose levels crashed and we had to rush him to a nearby hospital because we are not near a Banfield. He also had kidney failure. We needed his records quick. I tried to order his records from Corporate Banfield; they are only able to send what lab work was done and cost, no results. They told us to call our regular Banfield vet. We called Avondale Banfield because it is the most recent location we visited. They assured us they would sent the records right away abut did not send them that day, we ended up having to call again three days later, on Monday to finally get them to send the records. We have not had very much luck with the continuity of records or care from the Banfield system, this location is the last straw. We are ending our relationship with Banfield.
