| - Our family of 5 went for my daughter's 10th birthday. We called ahead, as the website states you need approval to bring anyone under 12. Kelly, who answered the phone, explained that although the room we chose ("The Ruins") was probably not too frightening for a younger person, the minimum age limit is there because a younger child might not be able to participate fully (as the puzzles are quite difficult in the rooms). Other escape rooms seem to exclude younger children because they are concerned that the child will ruin EVERYONE ELSE's experience. I love that Exit Strategy was thinking about it from the kid's point of view instead. Without giving a single thing away, Kelly gave us the low-down on what types of "scares" are included so that my daughter could be prepared. Armed with this info, we decided to go. From the minute we were greeted at the door by Lindsay, to the moment we "escaped," the staff were fantastic - enthusiastic, friendly, and helpful. We finished the room with 1:30 to spare (and only because we felt no shame in asking our awesome and totally in-character "explorer guide," Courtney B., for hints :-).
