We were looking for sushi near our house. I had seen Hokkaido Restaurant in the past and we decided to try it. The Teppanyaki area was very busy, and it looked delicious. Since we wanted sushi, we sat at a table. There was only one person at the sushi bar. The table had overhead lights, but really needed candles on table to see the menu. We had to use the light from our phones. We ordered a mixed tempura appetizer. In the dim light we started to eat it and my husband said "this is greasy". When we were almost finished we saw a puddle of oil on the bottom of the plate! We told the waiter and he offered us another. We declined. We ordered three orders of nigiri sushi, a caterpillar roll and an order of salmon sashimi. The pieces of fish were really small. Even the rice was small. The roll was small too. But the worst was the sashimi. It came on a bed of ice in a margarita glass. There were supposed to be 4 slices, but there were small bits. Our bill came to over $50. If you are looking for decent sushi, don't go here. I won't criticize the teppanyaki, as it looked good and the chef was doing a good job. They should fire the sushi chef. We won't be going back!
