  • This karaoke place is the place my friends and I go to most of the time. You have to take the stairs down and the place looks like an old run down place with graffiti all over the private rooms. when busy you can hear all the noise coming from all of the rooms although muffled. It is a Korean run business and the karaoke system is the same one they use in Korea. When compared to a karaoke place in Korea, this and many other businesses here cannot compare in service, appearance or quality. With a group you can guarantee that it will be $5/person/hr even (no tip/additional tax) which can be a good (for 4 people) or bad (for 4+ people) unless you know Korean and work out a better price. They definitely do give you extra hours if it's not busy though (6 hours even!!). The song selection they have is the best for Korean but they also have a comprehensive Japanese and English selection (only oldies and most recent popular ones make the cut). Their Chinese, Filipino, Vietnamese songs are minimal but it exists. They keep their selections up to date although few for non-Korean languages. For your session, you get a few books, two mics and a Korean key-pad. If you don't know Korean, you might be a little confused about how to enter a song so I would suggest to either come with a Korean friend or have the staff explain it to you (might be limited because the keypad can do much more than add songs like skip, browse songs and make changes to the queue). I like the book and keypad system because you don't have to wait for someone to browse a digital selection before you can browse. You can even keep track of your favorite songs so that you can immediately make a selection next time or when the pad is free. If you request let's just say, Chinese songs, you may have to use a separate system which is troublesome when you have people who want to sing on the standard system. The karaoke video is old and random over timed lyrics. If you want to sing a Japanese song, lyrics are in authentic Japanese plus Korean romanization on top (same with Chinese songs). Korean of course is in authentic hangul. It also gives you an melody to go on, however instrumentation is altered and sounds synthetic. The TV system is not the most up to date but tolerable. Seats are comfy but not very accessible because of small space so be wary when sitting in the middle. The staff give you lots of privacy so you can probably bring your own snacks as long as you hide them when entering. There is a phone in the room to call for service as well.
