| - I expect a wine bar to at least have good wine, if nothing else, but the wine at Ibiza that my dining companion and I had was terrible. JUST TERRIBLE. This isn't an "oh, we had a bad glass" sort of terrible either because each of us had a flight with 4-5 wines in it and didn't like any of them. There was also a dishwashing film on several of the glasses, which may be okay in an Olive Garden or something, but not at a self-proclaimed wine bar. We had intended to eat, but after trying two tapas (chicken satay and bruschetta) and being underwhelmed by the taste and portioning for the price ($$$), we decided that it was probably best to not stay for dinner. That's the beauty of the Southside-- if you don't like where you are, there are tons of other choices just a stone's throw away.
The staff was fairly rude-- especially the hostess-- with the exception of our server who was pleasant, but clueless about the menu and kept disappearing and coming back smelling like cigarette smoke (when we left he was actually posted up at the front door smoking). I liked the ambiance and decoration of the restaurant, but was sorely disappointed with the wine and food for the price. A few slices of bread for $10 with wine that tastes spoiled? Count me out. I see that this restaurant is now offering groupon and living social deals to try to attract business (I paid full price on my visit). Let it be know that I would not return to Ibiza, even with a deal.
