| - I love union cab. All throughout college, and my early-mid 20s, I would take whichever cab was quickest home from the bar. eventually, I found out that union was always the quickest cab; and that their drivers were always the nicest, safest, most entertaining, and happiest on the road.
Today, they're the only company I call when I need a ride home from a bar, or a mechanic or when I need to get to the airport. I've even walked past a half dozen other cabs at the airport, just to get into a union cab, since I know I will no doubt have a great experience.
Even their phone answering people are friendly. I didn't know the address of the place I was at one time, and the woman on the phone with me worked out where I was by asking me what was across the street, what the building I was in looked like and all that jazz. Sure enough, ten minutes later a yellow cab rolls up in front of wherever I was to whisk me back home. And all without laughing at how drunk and stupid I was for not knowing where the hell I was.
Oh, and they also give free rides to and from the polls on Election Day, which is just so damn cool!
So yeah, basically the coolest cab company in town.
Oh, and I forgot that they are somehow also a worker owned coop, which is kind of awesome when I think of a bunch of cabbies arguing over health care plans and sick days.
