  • Hey, guys? Here's another thing that Food Network broadcasts: COOKING SHOWS! This way you can stay home and make something for yourself and then we won't have to read how disappointed you were by your "small" portion of french toast that looked bigger on DDD's (just like McDonald's burgers REALLY look juicy in the picture menu!), or that you were hot (you live in Phoenix!! Is this a news flash? Wear a tank-top!), or that the wait was long and you had to stand in your Ugz for 15 minutes (quick! call WHINE-1-1). I partook of the "Over Easy" twice, and clearly had diff'rent experiences from others: First time, there was no wait. Sat inside with my main squeeze, had a friendly waitress, and enjoyed: I had a truly delicious omelette with salmon, asparagus and goat cheese, hash browns and toast. the omelette was fluffy and nicely done, and the hash browns had that "glorious brown/gold crust of crunchy heaven" layer on top. What'd he have?......Oh, yeah! The egg breakfast - and the eggs were done just right. Both our toasts were in-the-middle. they could do better on their jams: standard issue, and full of corn syrup. Yuck. Second time: main squeeze + two friends. Sat on the patio (and bypassed a 15 minute wait for indoors). Yes - it was warm, but we knew it would be. There was still a fan and it was still before noon. We survived. Had yet another omelette - even BETTER the second go-around. My bud had fluffy, golden brown, delicious looking blueberry pancakes - with the blueberries underneath ( I snuck a bite), the squeeze had eggs and tots (which were crispy and not too greasy), and the other bud had a sausage omelette (which he sung the praises of). It was charmingly ludicrous how many times we got offered water refills (they REALLY wanted the patio patrons to be hydrated and happy - it was nice to see). I also had a lemonade with mint (house-made and oooooh so nice). What made it nice was our sassy waitress Sarah (who still hasn't hiked Squaw Peak and playfully razzed us for having come from doing just that). She was attentive, funny, easy-going, and knew the menu. The patio, in fact, was quite a-buzz with attentive staff (with water pitchers). I will be returning. So, um.....yeah - it' a small place. You can see that going in. If there's not enough elbow room for you to show off your new handbag or your 12th piercing, this place might not be for you. And yeah - the patio is OUTSIDE (gasp!!). Have a glass of water before-hand and quit yer' bitchin'! Hydrate! Oh, and P.s? Matt's Big "B" only got big because it was on TV. The wait there is just as long, the place even more cramped, and the prices the same. Stop being lemmings.
