I just checked into the hotel for a 2-night stay attending a conference for work. Location is fantastic. The Union Station connection to the subway is less than 2 blocks away. My room on the 23rd floor offers an awesome view of the financial district. The appointment and furnishing are also one step above its sister in Addison TX where I stayed just a few months ago.
I can't comment on the price since it's a negotiated group rate for the conference and work is paying for it.
Despite the decent appointment and good location, I can't give it a higher rating for the following reasons:
- The robe in the wardrobe upon my check-in had one arm turned inside out and the robe was not tied. Did they replace the robe when they turned over the room for the next customer? If they did, that is a sign of lack of attention to details.
- Although the furnishings are decent, they are showing their age:
(a) The shower head reminds me of the small conical standard steel shower heads in old apartment buildings. Water jets come out in a circle with nothing in the middle and it is not adjustable.
(b) There is no electrical outlet near the night stand or at the base of the bedside lamp. How do they expect customers to use their smartphones as alarm clocks and have them charged during the night?
