  • I went to dinner here last night with my bf. We have lived in Phoenix for over a year now and had only heard about this place 2 days ago. Needless to say that when a fellow foodie tells you about a great place, you go there the next night. We started with the cheese curds and the grilled baguette with the roasted garlic & olive oil. The curds were salty and savory while the bread with roasted garlic was subtle but delicious. I ended up combining both appetizers (putting the cheese on top of the garlic spread with the bread) and it made it perfect: salty, garlicky, and wonderful. My bf had the Pine AZ spiced steak with mashed potatoes. He let me have a bite of each and the steak was tender, juicy, and flavorful. The potatoes were creamy but lacked depth in my opinion. I had the Beet Crudo Ravioli and the Gnocchi for my main course. The gnocchi was fluffy with a delicate outer crunch; the cheese sauce it came with was delicious. Like everything in life, more cheese sauce is appreciated. Now the beet crudo ravioli was on a whole other level. The beets in combination with the cheese filling and the cold gazpacho-like sauce was insanely good. I ate that dish slowly, savoring every bite. We were planning on ordering the creme brulee for dessert but the owner, Grace, beat us to it and delivered it to us on the house. It was rich and creamy with the lovely sugar crust on top. It was so nice of her to do that and made regular customers out my bf and I. Honestly, this place is amazing. From the cozy atmosphere to the reasonable prices to the effort that's evidently put into each dish...I don't understand how I, as a foodie, had not heard of it until now. But I'm so glad I did and we'll be back for more!
