Stylist/colorist: Amy
Reception: Andrew
I try not to write bad reviews for salons as I may eventually need to go back (I know, a shit policy...), but I have finally found a place a I can write a good review about.
I originally came upon Tonic II via groupon. The receptionist (who is actually really cool AND does a refreshingly good job at customer service, Andrew) scheduled me with Amy. She does both cuts and color and as a person with high hair hopes and typically low satisfaction levels, I can say that she delivers. She does a great subtle/natural blonde highlight as well as dealing with highly unruly wavy hair. I would recommend her for cuts but especially if you have blonde color.
The salon itself is kind of over-designed (read: very tacky: too much random design that does not work together, and what's with all the random fortune-telling crap and buddhas?) but Amy does such a good job that it can all be overlooked.
