| - "Back in the days when I was young,... I'm not a kid anymore .......but some days I sit and wish I was a kid again...."
Aahhh, Ahmad.
Ya know. This guy may have been onto something. Have ya' ever sat up while watching 'Cops' and sippin' Vodka Tonic's only to go into complete buzz - daydream tangent on the good ole' days?
Who remembers:
-- Hike 'N Seek?
-- Uno?
-- Twister? or.......
-- The Game of Life?
For what it's worth, laser tag has ALWAYS graced the top portion of my list of favorite things to do and upon my sister's securing reservations for my niece's 13th b-day this past weekend, I couldn't resist making the drive out from CA to LV for a lil' bit of childhood nostalgia.
Consider it the "kid" in Ken.
Come to think of it.... Whatever happened to Kid and Play???
Okay that was totally random of me. Anyway, located within the confines of a strip mall resting on Sahara and Cimarron, this video arcade / laser tag "adult friendly" kid zone serves "FUN" up w/ a side of nachos and pepperoni pizza!
[-------------For those of you, unfamiliar with the game that is laser tag (---seriously, what rock have you been hibernating beneath?), laser tag is a combination of hide & seek + "tag" whereas the object of the game is to score points while defending yourself and your team's base from attack.-------------]
Points are scored by tagging other players while wearing "infrared target vest" as well as team bases and arena targets.
Now that we're caught up, know in advance that this place goes BALLZZZ OUT!!! With "all you can play" games going for $20.00 as well as memberships, 3 rounds exhausted the heck out of me!!! Each "gun" is allocated a special code name (mine was "Demon", haha) and upon the expiration of each session, attendees are enabled to view their scores on a mounted flat screen.
* * * Don't judge me for consistently coming in last place. My arthritis was actin' up that day, lol...... Special shout out to Lisa, as well. She's definitely the "hostess with the most'ess!!!"
The venue, conveying a 2 story laser tag course, reminiscent, say, the war torn city of Aleppo has a million and one secluded hide outs! Sessions are 15 minutes a piece (but feel like a decade) and should a birthday event be secured, grub and beverages are inclusive in addition to cake. As of most kid tailored locales, tickets can be won when playing most of the games and/or redeemed thereafter for prizes.
DEFINITELY 5 star worthy!!!
With work outs like this, I truly question who the heck needs a gym membership??? Bring the fam-. Get your cardio on and make a day of it.
Feel free to thank me later!
