| - This used to be the best in town for a crepe. In fact, it used to be one of the best places in town period. While the coffee is still good, the menu changes have turned the food from fantastic to barely edible. I have been a weekly customer from the beginning.
My two favorite menu items were the D crepe (peanut butter & chocolate chip), and savory crepe #5 (pit smoked ham, swiss, honey dijon, & spinach). The D crepe has been removed from the new menu, and crepe #5's ham has been replaced with salty deli meat ham that tastes like cardboard. Also the crepe now has kale instead of spinach, which tastes like fibrous tooth floss. Oh, and there was a random egg thrown on top-- surprise!!
From what I can tell the new menu is an attempt to streamline the shop with a more "on the go" style menu. There is also a new cooler filled with soda and water, which I'm sure no one will ever use. Isn't it a coffee shop? Furthermore, the downsized menu has consolidated ingredients which are all much lower quality than before- surely to lower the food cost.
The end result? Cardboard crepes and drastically downsized menu featuring Oscar Meyer quality meat. I'm sad to say I will never be returning to what was once truly a Phoenix gem.
