| - I saw that someone else had reviewed Dr. Mandel and I had to throw in my two cents. Basically it's this: I hate that we moved such a far distance away from Cleveland Heights. I mean, it's half an hour, but when we go to the vet (rush hour) that's pretty rough (more like an hour). Let's just say we still consider it.
Even after moving, we went back to Dr. Mandel for surgery on our first dog's luxating patella. If you don't know what this is, it's when a dogs knee cap often slides out of place, sometimes hurting the dog, sometimes not. In our case, it was obvious our dog was in pain. Going to a "specialist" was a ridiculous amount of money. We called and consulted with Dr. Mandel who told us about the surgery in detail AND that he would be doing it himself. He's kind and caring with your pets in the exam rooms and half the day he's effectively slicing and dicing your pets back to health. Our pup quickly made a full recovery at over HALF what they wanted at the "specialist" place. Did you hear me? HALF. That's bonkers. I'm not saying it's cheap, not by a long shot. It's fair. And it's great service. And if I had more tolerance for sitting in traffic when the pups need a checkup and I could get there before they closed (decent hours, I just get out of work late), I would be.
If you are in, near, or don't mind driving to Cleveland Heights, try Dr. Mandel. You won't be dissappointed.
