My boyfriend and I decided to try this place because Island Teriyaki across the street was closed. We got there and were served very quickly. As I was looking at the menu a gnat or other small bug landed on me.. Kinda freaked me out. Also,an open trash can right by the door to the back of the kitchen/cleaning area in plain view of customers, right by the sushi making area. We ordered and I got the chicken teriyaki and he got the beef teriyaki. The food came out hot and looked pretty great. Upon closer inspection I noticed my chicken just looked..off. Maybe because I'm used to white, juicy chicken at Island Teriyaki. Maybe it was the lighting? I don't know but after eating just not very impressed. Had almost no flavor, like not marinated long enough. I got siracha to put on it and some soy sauce for more flavor and I like spicy anyways. I tried my boyfriend's beef teriyaki and it just tasted much better and not overcooked and flavorless. Giving three stars for fast service and the price wasn't too expensive, $25 on a Sunday night for 2 entrees a beer and a soda.
I would rather have Island Teriyaki across the street , the spicy chicken there is phenomenal and cheaper for the same amount of portions.
