| - I went to see dr harter for my second baby. Unfortunately I allowed the long wait times to deter me from using him for my first, definitely my loss!
I had a c section with my first and I know had I chosen Dr Harter, I would've been able to avoid that surgery. I also had a horrible time healing and was adamant that I chose a Dr with a great c section healing reputation. I was also intrigued by the possibility of a VBAC, which he is a big advocate of.
After having a terrible, scary delivery with my son, I was nervous about being pregnant again. After meeting Dr Harter I was excited and not as nervous. He said I was a great candidate for a VBAC. I also expressed wanting a doula and he helped me find Amy H. as my doula.(LOVED HER!)
Being in the medical field, I hear the name Dr Harter A LOT! And I have never once heard anything at all negative about him, ever. He has a great bedside manner and he carries himself in a way that tells me this man was born to bring babies into this world. It is very hard to work in the medical field and always be happy and excited and not get burned out, but somehow he seems to do it.
Although the wait times CAN be longer than some (I only have one OB to compare it to) he is worth the wait. In fact, I always set myself up for a 3 hour wait and anything less made me happy. Just bring a book and leave your kid with dad. It was actually something I looked forward to bc it was my "me time" to sit and read. And despite the wait times, I never felt rushed by him.
Thanks to Dr Harter and my amazing doula, I was able to have the birth I wanted as well as a successful VBAC.
Please do not allow wait times to discourage you from having the best OB in the valley. He is the best.
I would also like to note that it is RARE that you have an amazing Dr with amazing staff, not sure why, but his staff is all very kind and sweet. His two MAs are friendly and quick to get whatever paperwork you may need done.
