| - Cowfish is an incredible restaurant. It's one of those places, when you have friends come in from out of town, you can't wait to take them to.
I can promise you it has menu items that you won't see anywhere else. That alone makes them special, but the quality of their eccentric menu is what really sets them apart!
Starting with their famous "Burgushi" which combines classic burger-esque proteins like ground beef, steak and BBQ into a sushi roll. My favorite is the The Nature Boy's WOOOOO-shi BuffalOOOOO-shi Roll (Sautéed chipotle bison, fried green tomato, grilled onions, feta cheese inside, coated with tempura flakes. Topped with fresh green tomato, chipotle aioli, diced tomato, red onion, jalapeño pepper). It definitely lives up to it's namesake! I have tried all the Burgushi's and enjoyed every one of them. If you are taking someone for the first time, try to get them to at least split one Burgushi with you.
Appetizers that are must orders:
1. Crab Rangoon Dip and Blackened Tuna Nachos. Both will change your life...trust me!
If you are looking for a really solid traditional Sushi roll, I recommend the:
Mad Mango-Cado Roll (Shrimp tempura, kani inside, coated with tempura flakes. Topped with mango, avocado and sweet eel sauce. Served with a side of spicy mayo) This one will work for event the pickiest of sushi eaters.
If you are in the mood for a burger, you can't go wrong with any of them, but I particularly like the: The Texas Longhorn (Half-pound beef burger, cheddar cheese, onion strings, jalapeño bacon, tangy BBQ sauce, lettuce, tomato, brioche bun)
