rev:text	I have a colleague who lives in the neighborhood, so I've played at Rhodes Ranch a couple times now. The play is generally slow, but the course is in good shape and a good value if you can find fees under $50, which isn't a problem for locals during the week and around twilight time. The course is pretty straight forward with minimal to no elevation change and no holes with any significant dog legs. Almost all of the greens I remember provide a backboard, sloping up, from front to back. There might not be a challenge for low handicappers even though it plays 6900 yards from the tips because of this set up. I broke 90 both rounds playing from the blues (6400, slope rating: 116) which is good for me and I didn't have my usual implosion hole or two. All of the par 3's are long enough for mid to long iron, with three having water in play. Number 11 is a drive-able par 4 for the big hitters if you can carry 260 over the lake. Numbers 4 and 8 are other short par 4s where playing the big dog might be too much on the risky side. A 4.5 hour round should be expected. Bring your rangefinder because the only yardage reference will be the 150 stake and sprinkler heads. What makes me a fan of the course is that you get a bag of balls to warm up and two free drinks when you're on the course, that's like a $20 value if don't feel like doing any math. The starters and employees in the pro shop are always friendly. We had drinks in the restaurant after one if the rounds and there was plenty of seating, a big screen to watch television, and decent selection of bites to eat.
