Stop by Sephora in JCPenney and needed to buy make up so after that I went to the jewelry section inside JCPenney to buy some earrings for my mom. I was waiting for a good five minutes I was looking around to see who worked in the jewelry department and I didn't see anybody. An older CAUCASIAN lady come up and started looking at the jewelry and the jewelry sales rep came up to her right away and was like hello can I get you something? And the lady turned around said "no I'm just looking" and the jewelry sales rep was like OK let me know if I can get you anything. Then she turned around said to me "Hi" that was it. I was so shocked because I hear about discrimination every day and I just didn't think I would ever experience it. I'm so bummed out because I was really hoping to buy a set of gold earring for my mom. Anyways I've worked in retail for years and have learned 1. Never make assumptions if people can afford things 2. These customers are providing food in the table for YOU AND YOUR FAMILY 3. With GREAT customer service skills YOU can sell about anything to anyone. Never going back. Telling all my social media followers about this and hope they never shop JC.
