  • After calling to check the wait time three days over the course of a couple weeks, the hostess told us about the NoWait app. After downloading the app, I was able to get on the list without having to be at the restaurant. GENIOUS! The wait time in the app said 45-1 hour. We arrived 50 minutes later and our table was ready. I overheard the hostess apologize as she told those in line without the app that they'd have a hour long wait. On a side note, this was actually not as bad as the other times we called- 2+ hour wait. So, the real question was would BRGR live up to the hype and extraordinary wait times? The answer - in short- No. I started with a chocolate milkshake while hubs got a martini. The shake was thick and tasty. No complaints there. The food came out quickly, especially the kids meal. I ordered the Average Joe with white cheddar. I was looking for the basic burger so that I could really taste the flavor and quality of the meat. Hubs ordered a salmon burger and we split the BRGR fries which were described as being topped with parmesan and herbs. Being preggo, I had to order my burger well done. Regardless of the temp, my expectation at a restaurant that specializes in burgers is to have a well seasoned, juicy burger. What I ended up with was a dry, somewhat tasteless piece of meat. The fries were also decidedly average. The parm and herbs were lightly sprinkled on top and did not stick to the fries. On a positive note, the service was great. Overall, I am in no rush to get back to BRGR. Nothing stood out to me as being spectacular. Maybe the crazy toppings on some of the specialty burgers add the missing flavor element. But, I've had better "basic" burgers at places like Smashburger.
