| - AWFUL.
I recently placed an order online for (60) invitations and (60) small cards, cut in 2, yielding a total of (120) invitations and (120) small cards.
When we arrived to pick up our order, it was evident that not enough invitations had been printed. It was clearly visible that the stack of smaller cards was twice as large as the stack of invites. After the young lady helping us spent a few minutes arguing with us that the order was correct, my fiancé counted the cards in front of her as evidence to show her the order was- in fact- incorrect. She offered to print the missing invites to rectify the situation.
When the order was (finally) complete, I asked for envelopes at checkout. I was given envelopes- but not before receiving a lecture on how those should have been requested when placing the online order. Insert eye roll here- after screwing my order up, I was getting a lecture?!
Fast forward to the first time in a week that I've had a moment to get these invites done. Get everything pulled out, and realize the "missing invites" that had been hastily printed while we were waiting were not printed on the correct paper- they were printed on flimsy paper, making stuffing the envelopes an irritating task. The difference was clear when I got to the cards that had been printed prior to our arrival for pickup. Secondly, the young woman assisting us did not fulfill the order. I am missing 22 invitations that should have been there.
A friend of mine suggested Staples and raved about your printing quality, low prices, quick turn around, and great customer service. I'm not sure I agree with her on much of this- that was an awful experience. These aren't invitations to my 21st blackout rager- THESE ARE MY WEDDING INVITATIONS. This is a time when I don't need additional stress from vendors I am paying for a service- nor should I have to fight to get a product I paid for. At the very least, your customer service representative could have been much kinder! Her attitude would have made a world of difference in that frustrating situation. Additionally, the laziness and inattentiveness of your team to my order was unacceptable. While the CSR did attempt to fix it, she did so with haste and printed a lower quality invite (and was rude). The rest of the 5 people buzzing around the printing center were just as bad.
Full disclosure: I did email corporate and offer them the opportunity to correct this before taking to Yelp. Haven't heard a peep, so figured I would warn others away from this Staples.
