| - Very cool stadium, but there are pros and cons. Almost everything inside is overpriced when it comes to food & drinks, but that is normal at most event venues. However, I had an issue with event staff. MOST were absolutely wonderful, very friendly and super helpful! BUT... you are always going to get that one, rude employee who has nothing on their agenda but being unpleasant.
We checked out the regs online for what was/was not allowed before we attended the football game. We made SURE our clutch purses were within the size requirements or in clear plastic bags. However, one very RUDE lady working the West gate decided to take her flimsy piece of "measuring" paper to my bag, and because it was literally ONE CENTIMETER "too long" flat out told me, "your bag is not within limits. And you don't need it, anyway. Throw it away or donate it. Those are your options or you can go home." Excuse me?!? I pushed the bottom of my bag up, because it sags when my heavy phone is sitting at the bottom. So I took my phone out and asked her to "re-measure". She proceeded to grab my purse and try to motion it towards the garbage can next to her! I don't apologize for being beyond angry. I work hard for my items, and throwing it away because it was ONE CENTIMETER "too long" is ridiculous!
As it turns out, I emptied the contents and went to the entrance line to the left of the rude employee, where a very kind gentleman simply asked me to place the empty purse and the contents I had removed in the bucket for a quick scan... THAT simple, not degrading me or telling me to throw my possessions out. I sincerely appreciated the employees that actually CARED about those of us who were just trying to follow the rules but also carry our personal items on us without a hassle. It is a shame one foul employee can almost entirely ruin attending the event for you.
But after that issue, it was a great experience inside the stadium. The big screens allowed us to view everything easily, being in a very high up section (nose-bleed). It was a bit daunting, the STEEP stairs and seating for rows THAT high up... but security was also on top of it when it came to intoxicated & unruly fans. Promptly escorted a group of drunk & rude patrons out from the row in front of us after they proceeded to have a cat-fight & spill their beer all over the poor individuals sitting in front of them. So we were pretty impressed with the whole setup and how on top of it security was along with how smoothly the entire event ran. You would think exiting would be chaotic with a mass crowd all leaving at once- but it wasn't! It was very smooth and quick as everyone pretty much calmly filed down the stairwell exits.
Overall, it is a very nice stadium and navigating inside is fairly easy. We really did enjoy chatting with a few of the event employees before the game, and getting food or drinks was also incredibly easy with access to most everything every few feet, including bathrooms! We also really enjoyed the tailgating experience outside before entering the stadium. Besides the entire lawn filled with tailgating booths/parties, they also had an abundance of food trucks AND beer/margarita vendors!
So, besides the disgruntled event staff employee and seating in the "nose-bleed" area that makes you feel like you will fall all the way down onto the field if you happen to trip- it is a great venue and the experience was enjoyable. I also really love the retractable stadium roof! They have pretty much everything set up there to maximize the attending experience. Including the bathrooms, because those were also very clean & kept up with! For a place with large crowds involving mass amounts of people, it was very cleanly & organized. Navigation was also very easy thanks to the friendly event staff who were very helpful with pointing in the right direction all the way down to escorting you to your row/seats if you have difficulty finding them.
I really give props to the above & beyond staff, as well as the cleanliness & upkeep of the stadium. It was a great game, but a nice venue with good staff can make all the difference.
