It had been a while since I'd been back to Due Forni, which is my mistake because somehow things are now on a whole other level. You can still get the pizza Due Forni is famous for (like the Tartufo), but the other dishes on the menu are what you want to focus on. My recommendations are the chef's platter (with cheeses like a cheddar with an espresso rind that was crazy-good), the gnocchi (with a truffle crema) and the cioppino (with fennel in the broth that made me realize I need to cook with fennel more at home). I missed out on the pork belly this time, but I'm definitely looking forward to it on my next visit.
The beverage menu is also extremely notable, with many selections of wines and beers that I never see on any other menu (like a pale ale made in Italy that was the best Italian beer I've ever tried). The whiskey menu is also very deep with selections from Arizona to Denmark.
Overall the food and drinks were outstanding, the prices were reasonable, and the location continues to feel comfortable and inviting from the patio in front to the bar in the back. I should also mention the servers and hosts were all extremely friendly and knowledgable about not just the food but the wine as well (something I always watch out for).
If you're in Summerlin or Summerlin-adjacent and looking for a great night out with friends or your family, steer clear of the chain restaurants in Downtown Summerlin and check out Due Forni. It's only one exit away, but it's miles ahead.
