This used to be one of the two bookstores that I would go to when I was downtown. However since the company that owns both Indigo and Chapters decided to close the Chapters (older store) located at the corner of Stanley and Ste-Catherine (near Peel metro), I will come here.
Indigo is inside Place Montreal Trust and as such is connected to Montreal's "underground city".
It is a very nice bookstore where you can browse and no one bothers you for sitting down and browsing through some of their books as long as you don't damage the books or cause a disturbance. There are a few chairs where patrons can sit down and there is even a coffee/tea/snack area. The staff are also helpful and they have terminals where you can do a search for the book that you want to purchase.
This place has WiFi but you either need to be on the Bell mobility network (and be capable of receiving an SMS) or if you are a member of their Plum Rewards programme, you can also log onto their WiFi network.
