| - My experience working with West USA Realty (Specifically Joyce Chan) was absolutely HORRIBLE. I have never had to jump through so many hoops to get approved for a rental before. Not only did my fiancé and I do EVERYTHING they asked of us to get the rental we wanted in a timely manner, but we also are now out $135 because they had us do three separate applications. Paper applications, online applications, provide a medical letter for my emotional support animal, ALSO provide a signed letter that they wrote themselves for my emotional support animal, get a co-signer, have them do the two applications, and then we waited for DAYS to get any sort of response from them. Both of our credit is average, and has never been denied before (still not sure why this was such an issue). My fiancé and I are horrified at how dehumanizing this whole process has been and how easy it was for them to do anything in their power to deny us. They WALKED IN to our apartment complex lobby to get information on us living there! Why not just call?? There was, however, a mistake when they went into the complex lobby with information regarding late rent payments on our behalf. After speaking with my current landlord, she felt terrible for the mistake and said she was happy to send over any more information explaining the situation to their team. However, I declined, as I would rather give my left arm than to rent from psychotic property owners like these. (1406 W Main St 115, Mesa, AZ 85201). They went above and beyond to disqualify us and we will never work with, refer, or speak highly of this company ever again. I HIGHLY recommend never using Joyce (who is terrible at communicating) or West USA Realty again. They did not want to have dogs in the rental, and I am almost absolutely certain that they did anything they could to get us out of the running because of the dog situation without saying it because that is illegal. They found a loophole and I think that this shows their morality.
